Laura Scott, Environmental Manager; NRG Energy Inc.

 

Laura Scott is an Environmental Manager in the corporate Environmental Compliance and Sustainability program for the largest competitive electricity generator in the United States and a leading retail provider of electricity and energy services.

 

NRG is at the forefront of changing how people think about and use energy. Whether as the largest solar power developer in the country or by giving customers the latest tools to better manage their energy use, NRG is a pioneer in developing smarter energy choices.

 

Laura's responsibilities include the development and implementation of strategies to share best management practices and improve environmental performance and sustainability across NRG generating plants and assists with managing “econrg” NRG Energy's initiative for environmentally responsibility. These efforts have resulted in a 49% improvement in environmental compliance performance since 2011.

 

Laura obtained her BS in Education from Sam Houston State University and MS in Environmental Management from University of Maryland University College. She is a Girl Scout Leader and enjoys volunteering with the Galveston Bay Foundation and Trees for Houston.
